Deckhand is internal software built and operated by Custom Deck Creations for its own staff. It is not offered to the public, there are no external accounts, and nothing in it is sold, rented, or shared for advertising.

Who can use it

Sign-in is restricted to Google accounts on the customdeckcreations.com domain, and an account has to be approved by an administrator before it can see anything. There is no public sign-up.

What it holds

• Staff accounts: name, work email address, role, and a record of changes each person makes to schedules and settings.
• Customer and project records copied from JobTread, the company’s own job management system. This includes customer names, addresses, contact details, appointments and job history.
• Accounting records read from QuickBooks Online, the company’s own accounting system: invoices, purchases, accounts and the customers they relate to.

All of it is data Custom Deck Creations already holds about its own business. Deckhand brings it together so it can be reported on; it is not a new collection of anybody.

Where it goes

The application and its database run on Google Cloud. It talks to JobTread and QuickBooks Online to read the company’s own records, to Google Calendar and Gmail to place appointments and send booking emails to customers, and to Google Maps to work out travel between appointments. There are no other outbound integrations, no analytics trackers, and no advertising services.

QuickBooks Online in particular

Deckhand reads accounting data only. It does not create, change or delete anything in QuickBooks. Access is granted by an administrator through Intuit’s own consent screen and can be withdrawn at any time, either from the QuickBooks side or from Deckhand’s settings. Withdrawing it hands the tokens back to Intuit and deletes them here.

How long it is kept

Copied records are kept while they remain in the source system and are removed when they are removed there. Records of who changed what are kept as a permanent audit trail, because being able to answer that question later is the point of having it.
